Year 2 - Transport

We use the iPads to help us with our learning by finding out information for our non fiction writing.
We can navigate our way through our Year 2 iTunes U course on transport on the iPad.

We wrote our introduction explaining what transport is and tried to use a list sentence.

We explained that transport uses energy and we know it can have an effect on the environment.

We drew and painted pictures by the famous artist Simon Hart.

In music we know how to play quarter and half notes on the iPad.
"I can play 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' using the Virtuose app on the iPod."

FS2 - Growing Up

FS2 have been learning all about different jobs! We've been so lucky that so many parents and carers have given up their time to come in and talk to us about their jobs. We had a think about what kind of jobs we'd like to do and wrote a sentence saying what we want to be when we grow up!

Congratulations to Normanby's swimmers!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Y5 and Y6 children who took part in the swimming trials on Thursday evening. They all swam really well and made Miss Close and Mrs Greenmon very proud teachers!

Rebekah Worthy swept the board and won all 4 of her races and James Tate won the boys breaststroke. They have been selected for the Redcar and Cleveland team and will compete later in the term.  All of Team Normanby swam fantastic times and some children might be selected for the reserve places.

A big well done to...Melissa Barwell, Lucy Hart, Evie Hanford, Emily Yare, Daniel James, David Gofton, Zak Bryan, Ryan Silk, Daniel Shackleton, Kieran Horne, Rebekah Worthy, Eve Fitzgerald, Ewen Cameron, James Tate.

Year 1 - Toys

Our topic in Year 1 this term is Toys. We have been learning about the history of teddy bears and we have been reading stories with bears in them. We have read lots of stories by Mick Inkpen including the story ‘Nothing’. We used Pie Corbett and actions to retell our story. We then retold the story of Nothing.

We have also been reading ‘Dogger’ by Shirley Hughes. We have written a description of Dogger. We had to make sure that we used capital letters and full stops.

Work by Jacob, Sophie and Freya.
