FS2 - Build A Bear

FS2 visited the Metro Centre in November!! We went to Build-a-Bear and made four bears who will travel up through school with us. They are called Sophie, Honey, Max and Danny! We also had a delicious lunch at Frankie and Benny's! We did lots of work in the run up to our trip; voting for which bear we wanted and choosing outfits. Then we wrote all about our trip and lunch in our FS2 books!

History Homework

The children in Key Stage 2 really enjoy creative pieces of homework.  The children and parents/carers put a lot of effort into producing some spectacular pieces - we appreciate your hard work!  Here is a selection of homework from children in Y4 and Y5 linked to the Anglo Saxons and Vikings...

Year 5 - Earth and Space

This week was Space Day in Y5!  The children participated in lots of practical Science and investigated how the length of a person's shadow varies throughout the day.  We also learnt about the 8 main Moon phases and recreated the cycle using Oreo biscuits!

Year 5 - ChildLine Workshops

This week, the children in Y5 and Y6 participated in ChildLine Workshops.  Following on from this, the children used their iPads to create their own anti-bullying posters to be displayed around school. Well done to Lily Booth, Adam Harvey and Josh Durnall for your great posters!

Pupil News: Selfies at the Sage!

Year 3 - Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Year 3 have explored a range of traditional stories and compared them with those from Brazil. We have looked at the character of Goldilocks and if she was a good or bad character.

Goldilocks even came to visit Normanby Primary School! We asked her lots of questions to find out why she went into the bears’ house. This helped us to write character descriptions before writing our own versions of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'.

Year 2 - The Great Fire of London

Year 2 have been researching The Great Fire of London.  We have found out facts about how and why the fire started and what happened to London after the fire. We have written diaries like Samuel Pepys and poems using description. Now we are starting to print fire pictures and make a fire collage. We have really enjoyed learning about the fire.

Normanby Primary Digital Leaders

An informative day taking on the role of researchers at the 'Digitally Confident Conference' at the Sage Gateshead.  With the morning spent gathering views and opinions and filming delegates and an afternoon presenting to over 200 people, Normanby Primary School's Digital Leaders have produced some fabulous videos and thoroughly made us proud. Normanby is continually supported by the 'Inspire 2 Learn'  centre that offers continued pedegogy for professionals in the community. Thank you to Simon Finch for the opportunity to present today to such a captive audience!

Well done Normanby Primary School Digital Leaders!
