In Year 5 this week, we have been making musical instruments. We started by researching the different musical families and began designing instruments that we would like to make. After this, we then wrote instructions on how to make our instruments.

Year 5 - Maths and Literacy
In Y5 this week, the children have been learning about fractions of numbers and shapes. We have also been applying appropriate written methods to word problems. In Literacy, we have been reading the story 'Around the World in Eighty Days'. We have been learning about different ways to develop our story starters using speech, action and description. We have also been exploring how we can use speech sentences in our writing.

Year 4 - India
Here are some examples of work Year 4 have been doing since Christmas. Our new research topic is India so we have been finding out where it is, some information about its landscape and creating a factfile by using iPads to research the country. The children are also writing a non-fiction report in Literacy about India. In Maths, we are looking at place value and multiplying and dividing a range of numbers by 10 & 100.
The examples of work are India Report by Ellie, Maths work by Ethan and Research topic work by Adam Harvey.
