Year 3 - Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Year 3 have
explored a range of traditional stories and compared them with those from
Brazil. We have looked at the character of Goldilocks and if she was a good or
bad character.
Goldilocks even came to visit Normanby Primary School! We asked
her lots of questions to find out why she went into the bears’ house. This
helped us to write character descriptions before writing our own versions of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'.

Year 2 - The Great Fire of London
Year 2 have been researching The Great Fire of London. We have found out facts about how and why the fire started and what happened to London after the fire. We have written diaries like Samuel Pepys and poems using description. Now we are starting to print fire pictures and make a fire collage. We have really enjoyed learning about the fire.

Normanby Primary Digital Leaders
An informative day taking on the role of researchers at the 'Digitally Confident Conference' at the Sage Gateshead. With the morning spent gathering views and opinions and filming delegates and an afternoon presenting to over 200 people, Normanby Primary School's Digital Leaders have produced some fabulous videos and thoroughly made us proud. Normanby is continually supported by the 'Inspire 2 Learn' centre that offers continued pedegogy for professionals in the community. Thank you to Simon Finch for the opportunity to present today to such a captive audience!
Well done Normanby Primary School Digital Leaders!

Diversity Week
This week was 'Diversity Week' at Normanby Primary School. Each year group had a different country to learn about. Year 5's country was Chile. The children learnt about the work of Karin Momberg, a famous Chilean artist. They were really inspired and spent a lot of time discussing and interpreting each piece! The children then had a go at reproducing their favourite piece...
Eve Applegarth's interpretation of 'Waiting for You'...
Emily Brown's interpretation of 'I am the Queen'...
FS1 - Dinosaurs
In FS1 we have been learning all about dinosaurs. It has helped lots of our new children settle very easily. We decided that we would design our own dinosaurs some are spotty and some are stripy!
In addition, as part of our diversity week we have been finding out where Peru is . We have learnt that Paddington Bear comes from Peru too!
