This week in Y5, children worked with volunteers from Skills for Change to find out about disabilities. Paul, Dawn, Gill and Eliza returned to Normanby Primary School for the fourth year running to educate the children about disabilities, sign language and how their lives are affected by the problems they face. Staff were impressed at how mature and sensitive all the children were. George and Sam were awarded certificates in assembly to recognise this!
This week, the children also completed some challenging Maths investigation work and impressed Mr Ahmed, who came to visit us from Hillsview Academy. Jamilya, Max and Neve were asked to take their work to Mr Faulkner, who awarded them each with a special Head Teacher's sticker!

Year 3 - Cave Art
The Y3 children have been using their research skills to find out about cave art as part of their work on the Stone Age to Iron Age. They spent a day creating their own cave paintings by using cold tea, brusho or watery paint as a background wash before completing their designs with pastels and charcoal.
