Year 6 - World War II

Year 6 have been researching World War II with a particular focus on its impact on the Middlesbrough area. As part of this research, the children were 'evacuated' to Ormesby Hall to walk in the footsteps of the children who went before them.

The children learnt about: Make do and mend, air-raid shelter games, spies - and Morse Code, the role of an ARP Warden, the role of the billeting officer and finished the day singing WW2 songs. We are now looking forward to using what we have learnt from this experience in our writing!
